Each Presidential Inauguration is a new chapter in our history. The legacy of George Washington is remembered every 4 years and with each new elected President.

Be a witness to American History

Student will become witnesses to one of our pages of our history. It is a memorable event that each student should see at least once during their formative years.

Celebrate one of the oldest event of democracy

This event takes us  back to George Washington relinquishing power, peacefully to a newly elected President. The peaceful transition of power is a powerful moment where from one moment to the next, executive power is assumed by the new President when taking the "Oath of Office":

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:—"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Visit Washington DC

This is a great time to make it a part of your Washington DC school trip. Add a visit to the home of our first President at Mount Vernon. Make sure to take in the Smithsonian museums, then see  the memorials, the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery and perhaps add a day trip to Gettysburg after the main events. Make sure to meet with your Senator or Congressperson and discuss the main policy issues affecting you and your district.

Enjoy the celebration of our democracy in our nation's capital when you plan your Presidential  Inauguration school trip.
