The Ultimate Washington, D.C. Field Trip

Every year during the spring, thousands of students dream about their Washington, D.C field trip. GO Educational Tours is here to help ensure it is a memorable adventure for them! Each trip can be customized and personalized to a trip organizers preference. Below you will find our outline for the ultimate Washington, D.C field trip: 

Day One

  • Morning departure to Washington, D.C.
  • Visit the Museum of American History 
    • See the original Star Spangled Banner! 
      • OR Visit the National Zoo
  • Next, students are guided on a walk from the museum to the White House.
  • Continuing the guided walk to the National Mall. Students soak in the iconic monuments and memorials
    •  World War II Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials
  • Group sit down dinner 

Day Two

  • Hotel Hot/Cold Breakfast 
  • Visit the United States Capitol Building
    • Take a guided tour and schedule a meet and greet with your schools state representative or senator! 
  • Walk from the United States Capitol to the National Archives 
    • See the famous documents: Declaration of Independence, US Constitution, Bill of Rights
  •  Lunch voucher or catered boxed sandwiches 
  • Visit George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate
  • Group sit down dinner 
  • Evening Activity: Thomas Jefferson, FDR and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorials 

 

Day Three 

  • Hotel Hot/Cold Breakfast 
  • US Marine Corps War Memorial
  • Guided walk through Arlington National Cemetery 
    • Watch the 'Changing of the guard' ceremony
    • Pay respects to the beloved president Mr. Kennedy and his family 
  • Lunch 
  • Visit the International Spy Museum 
    • OR Visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum 
  • Group sit down dinner 
    • Add on the National Harbor Experience OR dinner dance cruise aboard the Spirit of Washington or the Odyssey! 
  • Visit the September 11th Pentagon and Airforce memorials 

 

Day Four 

  • Hotel Hot/Cold Breakfast 
  • Guided walk around Lafayette Park and White House outdoor viewing
  • Visit the Smithsonian Museums
  • Lunch 
  • Departure from Washington, D.C.
