San Francisco Field Trip Attractions

Three San Francisco Attractions for School Field Trips

The three best top attractions for students to visit on a field trip are the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Lombard Street!

Golden Gate Bridge

Made famous by countless movies and TV shows around the world, it’s no wonder The Golden Gate Bridge is called iconic. Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) X-Men: The last Stand(2006) and Star Trek (2009) making it a popular international attraction. Which one’s your favorite movie from this list? Just FYI mine is X-Men. Golden Gate Bridge connects San Francisco to California’s northern counties. The best way to enjoy the immensity of the Bridge is walking across it. It takes a little bit more than 45 minutes to get to the other end but it is worth it, the view on a clear day is just wonderful.

Fisherman’s Wharf

Students will find a wealth of knowledge on how a historic era still influences the present-day culture, events, sights, sounds, and food of San Francisco's most famous waterfront community. Explore the past, join in today's fun, and catch a glimpse into the future of Fisherman's Wharf! Want to witness it all happening, with all five senses? Early risers can watch them unload their catch at Pier 47, nicknamed Fish Alley. Or sleep in and just sample the catch. Your schools list of places to visit starts here.

Lombard Street

Students will marvel at this street. Known as the “Crookedest Street in the World,” Lombard Street is one of San Francisco’s most popular landmarks. It is also one of the city’s most scenic streets. Take a spectacular photo at the bottom looking up or enjoy the breathtaking view from the top looking out onto the San Francisco Bay. Although it’s a steep walk up Lombard Street, visiting doesn’t take a lot of time. Once there, you are close to numerous other San Francisco attractions. North Beach, Chinatown and Fisherman’s Wharf are all within short walking distance. Lombard Street is also located just a few blocks away from the San Francisco Art Institute, which sometimes features events, lectures and art shows. Perfect for any field trip!
