Top Philadelphia Attractions For Field Trips

Philadelphia is a great historical place for students to have a fun field trip. Here are some of the top attractions for students to visit on their fields trips.

Independence Hall

On your next class field trip to Philadelphia, Independence Hall is the perfect spot. This is of course where the declaration of independence and The U.S. Constitution were signed. Independence Hall is distinguished as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is much history to explore - from the Georgian architecture, to Peale's Museum, to fugitive slave hearings - in addition to the founding of the nation. Students will get to see where history unfolded.

United States Mint

The United States Mint is the perfect opportunity for students to see where the first coins were made. This field trip can really show students the importance of money since they can see where we started. Students will also be able to meet Peter the Mint Eagle, a real Bald Eagle who made the First United States Mint his home. George Washington, who lived nearby, was said to have donated his own silver to make some of the first coins. Amazing!

The Liberty Bell

No Philadelphia Field trip would be complete without visiting The Liberty Bell. The Liberty Bell bears a timeless message: "Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants thereof." An important message that transformed the bell into a symbol people still look onto today. Students will get to learn what the bell was used for in its time, and why it chimed. And students can solve the mystery as to why the bell is cracked.

Make sure to make these top attractions part of your next Philadelphia field trip with your students.
